Cherries in Washington State are growing! We expect an end of May/early June update.
Our top 10 produce items of 2023 are in and our top 5 items remained the same as last year: Onions, Potatoes, Berries, Apples, and Pears. Cherries moved up to #6 from #8 in 2022, and Melons, Grapes, Cranberries, and Citrus rounded out the top 10.

The 2023 Northwest Cherry season continues as we close out the month of July this week. Did you know fresh and sweet cherries are available until late August and beyond even? The season now runs from April starting with California and clear into September with some higher elevation cherries in the Pacific Northwest and cherries from Canada.

Itβs cherry bloom time in Washington State! We toured orchards this week and saw Rainiers, Chelans, the Audra Rose and more in bloom!
It`s hard to believe 2022 almost has its first month in the books already. We looked back at our 2021 sales, and these were our top 10 items sold for last year. Potatoes and onions remained #1 & #2 for us and melons jumped from 10th to 9th place.

Size 72 honeycrisp apples on the left. Size 36 honeycrisp apples on the right. The size refers to the number of apples in a standard 40lb box. Sizes 64-88 are the most common in produce departments for bulk apples. Bagged apples use smaller apples for the most part. A size 36 could feed a family!

Have you tried a Honey Belle Pear yet?
Our Oakland headquarters just taste sampled the Honey Belle pear from New Zealand and definitely were impressed!
We will have them available in 3 sizes starting in mid March. The pear tends to produce a smaller size profile, and we are expecting our initial peak sizing to be in the 50-59mm size range which is about 90-110 in our U.S. pear sizing. It is a crisp and juicy pear and has very low acid. It is also known as a super sweet pear and has proven popular in Asian markets. It`s often described as the perfect snacking pear.
