Papaya
Grant J. Hunt Company has a year round papaya program which focuses on Brazilian Hawaiian papayas. We offer both the red (sunrise) papaya and the yellow (solo) papaya. Papaya flesh is yellow-golden , juicy and silky smooth. The flavor is described as sweet tart flavor. Although most people discard the gray seeds, they are actually edible and are peppery in flavor. Papayas are great eaten fresh, did you know in certain cuisines they are used extensively for meat tenderizing?

Italian Chestnuts
Italian Chestnuts are currently being rediscovered and reinterpreted as food shows, magazines and chefs have made these old classic a new story. The most important thing to know about Italian chestnuts is that they are divided into two major families. Marroni, which are larger, quadrangular and have a lighter colored shell, these are eaten roasted or candied. Common chestnuts, on the other hand, are smaller and rounded on one side. These are excellent boiled, dried and even ground up to be used as chestnut flour. Those who love to eat them boiled cook them with a bay leaf or vanilla to flavor them slightly. Others make bread out of them, adding rosemary and thyme, which stimulate the digestion.
